Description
This filter sterilizes the unwanted germs and bacteria in the water. This UV is connected in a whole house jumbo filter. Alone a UV system is not enough; as a fact it is the last addition to your filtration system after rest of the filtration cartridge have performed their functions. The function of this filter is to sterilize water and disinfect it against biological invaders. Ultraviolet radiation technology is used by the sterilizer to kill 99.99% of germs such as bacteria and viruses. Any water-borne pathogen cannot survive these ultraviolet radiations. Right intensity of ultraviolet wavelength suitable for your house is based on flow rate.
A UV water sterilizer looks like rest of the filters but in terms of composition it has a shell casing UV emitting lamp. A UV water sterilizer works by exposing the unwanted microorganisms in the water to a certain defined germicidal wavelength depending on your need. This wavelength destroys the protein coating of the bacteria and viruses limiting their ability to multiply and reproduce. Within seconds, UV light kills 99% of germs making them inactive.
This wavelength is measured in terms of energy as mJ/cm2. A certain benchmark of this wavelength is enough for most of the households. Safe water systems are equipped with right intensity of this required wavelength which is appropriate to kill most of the disease-causing germs.
This UV sterilization treatment for water is completely safe and healthy in terms of consumption. This is not only cost efficient but environment friendly as well. This is FDA approved and recommended. An alternative to UV sterilization is Chlorine and chloramines treatment but it is costlier and secondly chlorine changes the taste and odour of the water which is not the case with a UV water sterilizer.
